Artfest 6: Anahata Class Represents at Show and Tell

Such great work came out of Anahata's classes. I love the use of these magazine and assorted other collage images on these symbolic icons and wallpaper people.

it's been a while since i've worked this big. so, seeing these big pieces at show and tell was yet another inspiring moment (yep, ArtFest was essentially one inspiring moment after another inspiring moment).

detail. you can really see the "wallpaper" part. one of the reasons for using this as the base. i didn't take the class, but, i imagine other reasons being the virtually limitless length (or width) of the base paper.

Oh. My. Goodness. I have to say that very nearly *every* single piece of art I saw that came out of these classes I loved. This image - one of my top 5. I don't know the artist (it was all I could do to take all the photos in the crush of people and escape to the glorious outside. it was hot and sensory overload in the show and tell room!) so many ideas swirling around in my head. I had to go back to my room, get out my journal and write and draw and try to get the most pressing thoughts out onto paper.

I resolve to spend more time drawing and painting fruits and vegetables. especially pomegrantes.

full view of the artwork. this class (can't remember the name of it, something about nature/beach altars) went to the beach with camera (polaroid) and created altars of what they found! *amazing* photographs here. and then, they took those photos to their classroom and painted! *love* this~ I have been using my bottle of sumi ink on nearly every page of my journal since I returned from ArtFest. Gonna have to get some walnut ink too.
Close-up of the polaroid with the painting. (Remember too. If you want to see any of the pictures on my blog closer, just right click on the picture, and then use the back arrow to get back to the blog).

another of my top 5. (also, don't know the artist, but, so my aesthetic). i've been making nests like crazy this year - before, during and since ArtFest.

So, that's all blogger will let me post photo wise right now. soon, Artfest 7: More of Show and Tell.

mmm...makes me want to get out my artist journals again! It just occurred to me that I used to do a lot of art journalling, and I haven't in quite a while!

I too love the jesus picture!
