Day Eleven
On September 11 I worked on several wood panels...this one shows the most progress.
Had a wonderfully reflective service at church. Honoring and loving and continuing to pray for peace. May all be safe.

Day Three
The artist's classroom space. Totally unpretentious. And all those art supplies so nearby to purchase!
Ground samples for playing with.
All those amazing Golden materials we learned about.
The painting station.
What I played with on Day 3. I bought some new paint, more water soluable pencils in black and red, 3 wax pencils.

Get Your Art On....
So, I clicked on a link from a friend of mine on FB (thanks Dianne)...to her most recent blog post and found she was taking this 30 days of art making challenge. And I thought, of course!, that is *just* what I need. So, I followed the link she posted (you can too Traci Bunkers) Here are her guidelines:
•I’ll make art every day for 30 days and post what I have done.
•I don’t have to finish what ever I’m working on that day, I just have to work on something.
•I have to work for 30 minutes, but can work longer if time permits.
•It doesn’t matter what I do for the art making, as long as I work on art.
•I won’t feel guilty for taking the time to work on art and I won’t have to justify why I’m doing it.
•I don’t have to go into detail in my post about how I did anything or what tools, materials I used (unless I want to).
Make your own guidelines that will work for you, so that you will succeed. This is supposed to be fun & inspiring, so it’s important to set guidelines that are realistic. If they aren’t, you might be setting yourself up for failure.
I have a show coming up in October (more details here and on FB soon), so I have to make more. This is a great time to do it. Plus, I have new class samples to make and am just itching to make, make, make....
Join me.

life affirming Art Journaling retreats
Our Saturday night party
Tina painted these glorious covers for a new journal.
Sue's show and tell. Sue also made these fun kalediscopes with her iPad (one day, I'll get one of these, so love them).
Penn's show and tell. I asked for her to point out the pockets :)
Paula's colour theory practice journal. *amazing*
Paula's sewn manilla file folder journal.
Kathe's show and tell. She loves words too.
Sue taking a photo of Rose's show and tell with her iPad.
love this teabag page in Gwen's journal.
Catherine's triad exercise with acrylic paint.
Love these weekends and all the great ideas we share with one another. Thanks Gussies.

collage a day class this saturday
I just returned from another Art Journaling Retreat. So life affirming. This was my favorite coffee mug for the weekend (the rainbow of faux FiestaWare was at our disposal).
One of my favorite print-able pieces I created this weekend.
I love, love, love making these quick collages!
I am so thrilled to be offering one of my *favorite*favorite* classes this weekend. There is still space! See Schack Art Center for details.

Daily sketches
Always in search of the perfect brush for sketching.
Love my white gel pen!
The Golden Paints Lecture. I played and played with the products left out for us to play with. If you love paints and gels and any Golden products, this is a must attend event. I had a great time and really look forward to attending a couple more of these in the future!
